Your PTCL broadband bill uses your 13-digit landline/account number. This is the same number as your PTCL landline phone number on your connection.

About PTCL Broadband

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is the state-owned national telecommunications company of Pakistan. Established in 1996 as a privatized successor to Pakistan Telephone and Telegraph Department (T&T), PTCL remains the dominant provider of fixed-line telephone and broadband internet services across the country.

PTCL offers three primary types of fixed broadband: ADSL (the older copper-wire based service available almost everywhere PTCL has landlines), VDSL (faster, using the same copper infrastructure but over shorter distances), and PTCL Fiber (fiber-optic connections in selected cities offering speeds up to 1 Gbps).

PTCL has the widest fixed broadband coverage in Pakistan, reaching areas that private ISPs like StormFiber or Nayatel have not yet covered. This nationwide reach makes PTCL the only realistic fixed internet option for consumers in smaller cities, towns and rural areas.

Understanding Your PTCL Bill

Monthly Package Rental: The fixed cost of your broadband package. This is the same each month unless you change your package.

Excess Usage Charges: Some PTCL packages are data-capped. If you exceed the included data limit, additional usage is billed per GB at out-of-bundle rates. Unlimited packages do not have this charge.

GST at 17–19.5%: General Sales Tax on telecom services. The rate may vary based on federal and provincial tax notifications.

PTV License Fee: Some PTCL packages may include a PTV fee bundled in.

Late Payment Fee: Applied if the bill is not paid by the due date, after which PTCL may throttle or suspend your connection.

FAQs — PTCL Broadband

DSL (ADSL) is the standard broadband over copper telephone lines — widely available but limited to typically 4–16 Mbps. VDSL uses the same copper infrastructure but achieves 25–50 Mbps by requiring a shorter distance to the telephone exchange. PTCL Fiber uses dedicated fiber-optic cables from the exchange to your home, allowing much higher speeds (25 Mbps to 1 Gbps) with greater reliability. Fiber is only available in areas where PTCL has laid the fiber infrastructure.

First, test your speed directly from a wired connection (not Wi-Fi) at speedtest.net. If the speed is indeed lower than your package speed, call PTCL at 1236. Common causes include line noise, water damage to outdoor cables, faulty modem, or exchange congestion. PTCL should send a technician to investigate. Keep a record of your speed tests as evidence for the complaint.
